Gigabyte BIOS Vulnerability — AMD

Thursday, 01 June 2023

GIGABYTE has recently issued a press release addressing a security flaw that exists in the BIOS of hundreds of models of their motherboards. They have been quick to address the issue, and BIOS updates have already been released for many of their motherboards. We stand by that level of support, as everyone will make a mistake at some point and should be judged on the way it is rectified.

It is highly recommended that you save your current BIOS settings, have stable power, are not scheduled for load shedding within the next 30 minutes, and preferably have a UPS which can provide at least 10 minutes of power to your computer before proceeding with a BIOS update, as an interrupted update could prevent your PC from starting.

For further information or technical assistance, please contact us by email, phone, WhatsApp, or the live chat on our website during office hours.

Credit goes to Eclypsium Research for finding the flaw and compiling the list.
